Privacy Summary – Achievements

The Institute of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies 

We only collect personal information when it is necessary (e.g. to process shop orders, to conduct family history and heraldic research on your behalf, send our newsletter, or reply to your enquiry).

What we collect: Name, address, email, phone number and for clients correspondence and family history research. Payment card details are handled securely by our payment processor and are never stored by us.

How we use it: To provide the services you request,  send newsletters (only if you opt in), and meet our legal and charitable obligations.

Who we share it with: Our staff, secure payment providers, and regulators (e.g. HMRC) when required. We do not sell your data or send it outside the UK.

How long we keep it: Until the service is complete, and is then retained for reference by the client only; financial records for 7 years; most other data for a few years at most or until you ask us to delete it.

Your rights: You can access, correct, or delete your data at any time, unsubscribe from mailings instantly, or complain to the ICO.

Cookies: We use only one strictly necessary cookie (see our Cookies Policy).
